Yet find it all, too. Birdsgrove House is a rambling Grade II-listed home on the cusp of the Peak District, sleeping two dozen in ten bedrooms with 12 acres of wonderful gardens.
Welcome to the world of the snug, the open fire and the comfy sofa. This is where you can get close to friends around blazing logs or a giant TV screen. Or escape completely, in the games room, the maze of reception rooms and bedrooms.
At Birdsgrove House you are greeted by the large entrance hall with open fire, sofas and the large projector screen. Opening off from this is the Snug, a cosy and comfortable room with couches, colour TV and DVD player; the Formal Living Room – a chill out room for some peace and quiet; and the Dining Room, a large spacious traditional dining room with room for 43 to dine together.
As with the whole house, the kitchen is luxurious with a Clive Christian fitted kitchen and an island for chopping and chatting with marble worktops. With everything you need from the Amercian style range and fridge / freezer and a Utility Room with a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
There is a games room with games available for the young and old and a study, useful for catching up on the internet.
One twin bedroom is located downstairs. On the first floor there are 10 bedrooms: six doubles, two twin rooms and two family rooms each sleeping four. Eight bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there are two shared bathrooms and one shared shower room. On the second floor there is one double bedroom and three twin rooms. Take in the breathtaking vistas from all the bedrooms. In the cottage there are an additional four bedrooms, two doubles, one twin and one bunk room.
What’s outside
Half an acre for every guest; a smile at every turn. Take in the views, turn the steaks over on the barbecue, chill with wine on the terrace.
