Hot tubs, gardens and grounds
The in-out flow here is as fluid as it gets with big bi-folds from either of the dining areas opening wide onto the kid-friendly astroturf lawn at the house or the courtyard at the villa. Take drinks on the terrace, kick a ball into the nets, chuck more lobster and crab onto the barbecue. As darkness drops, dip into one of the hot tubs beneath the pergola to simmer, stargaze and sip drinks.
Living spaces
The living spaces come bursting with contemporary cool. Fixtures and fittings come in warmed-up neutral shades with discreet pops of royal blue and classy leather. Three living rooms provide a TV each for viewing clashes, warmed by log-burner or electric fire. Choose from super-sociable living spaces to cosier snugs, there’s somewhere for everyone to unwind.
Upload your shots of the place to Instagram over the superfast broadband and waste an evening in the games room listening to your sounds on the BOSE Bluetooth while throwing darts and potting pool balls. Come together for family film nights.
Cooking and dining
Humungous is a good word for the kitchen/dining area in each house. With space for your party to dine around each of the 16-seater tables or, more casually, by throwing open the bi-fold doors to the garden and making the most of the barbie. Cook in the well equipped kitchens, or get the pros in and the only simmering you need do is in those hot tubs.
Big shop? Tesco and Sainsbury’s are just down the road. Or get a real flavour of the Yorkshire coast and opt for fresh lobster and crab directly from the harbour. Have a night off and grab a takeaway from Canton Kitchen for Chinese, Lezzet for kebabs and pizza, or Saffron for Indian. Ship to Shore is your best bet for super-fresh fish and chips.
Right on the cliffs, The North Star Hotel offers home-cooked food and drink with a la carte, breakfast and snack menus. Head to The Black Lion in Bridlington Old Town for great music, ale, breakfasts and burgers. Or see Flamborough Head then pop in for tea at The Seabirds for black and blue stacks or beer-battered haddock.
If it’s pizza and pasta you’re after, San Marco in Filey should do the trick. For a Mediterranean feel, great cocktails and a grazing menu, get a table at The Glass House at Charlotte’s. Or take a trip out into the countryside for Michelin-recommended Pipe and Glass’ ‘meticulously prepared’ menus.
Bedrooms
This close to the coast, you can gently nudge open the windows in the sixteen beautiful en-suite bedrooms and the night air will do the rest.
In the main house, great for those with mobility issues, bedroom one on the ground floor provides a kingsize bed with step-free access into a large shower cubicle, while bedroom two offers a superking bed that can split into singles. It gives access to bedroom three, sleeping two in a bunk.
Bedroom four gives you a superking that can be split, while bedrooms five, six, seven and eight are kingsize rooms with shower en-suites. Bedroom eight adds a bathtub.
Across the parking area and in the villa, bedroom one on the ground floor is a large kingsize perfect for an elderly couple or wheelchair users. On the first floor, bedroom two is a kingsize with access to bedroom three, offering an adult bunk bed. Bedrooms four and five are kingsize.
On the second floor, bedroom six provides a kingsize bed and the en-suite comes with a separate bath tub, while bedrooms seven and eight are doubles.
