We’re big on hens, parties and general celebrations here at The Fitz, and we can lay on lots on the lawn – archery, team games, zorbing. If you’d prefer to spread your wings, the Lakeland playpark looms large before you. Hike the hills, sail the lakes, climb the mountains, fish for trout. Nature is big and bountiful here.
Get close up and personal with rocks and water, with some ghyll scrambling, caving, canyoning or canoeing with Mobile Adventure. Or bite the bullet and don’t look down, on the awe-inspiring Via Ferrata. Go Ape at Whinlatter, walk with wolves at The Predator Experience, or just walk serenely to the Castlerigg Stone Circle.

Big nights in
Staying in is the new going out. Especially when surrounded by luxury and grandeur. There’s a dinner party waiting right here at home around the dining table that seats 24, and a professional kitchen that will bring out the best in you… or us, if you fancy a night off. Spread out, mix, mingle, or hide away in your own nook or cranny.
Nooks and crannies get no better than the elevated barbecue lodge in the garden. Make your excuses, then sneak away with a good book or a pair of headphones and find your own world, with the firepit in full flow. Or get a group together and share a night of steaks and stories in a special place.
The giant living room here is perfect for a party, or just a movie or match night, with the 65-inch TV waiting on the wall. As dusk descends, where better to be than in the bubbling hot tub, gazing at the stars and toasting the good life? Need to keep in touch or download a movie? The quickest thing around here is the broadband.
Competitive dads (and mums) can head to the play barn for a spot of table tennis, pool, darts or traditional board games. You can play cricket and croquet on the lawn or whack a ball into the nets on the grass. Or take things up a notch with a murder-mystery game or a little home pampering. We can help.
