Wild outside, warm inside

Indulge your love of the good life in the pure Lakeland air. Lose yourself in the double-height kitchen; open the French doors onto magnificent dining terraces; be waited on by chef and butler; light the fires and read or chat. Birkmere Barn is wild on the outside; warm and welcoming on the inside.

Warm, welcoming and full of fun

Close by the gushing waters of Aira Force, in the still of the Lakeland hills, on the wild and wonderful Eden Valley, Birkmere Barn is a place for resting, not raving. The huge kitchen is double height; the dining hall oak-floored; the French doors in the lounge open onto magnificent sandstone terraces.

Indulge your love of the good life as well as your love of family and friends. The four-oven Aga awaits, or be catered for by recommended private caterers. Enjoy drop-off dinners or home-made cakes. Pad around on underfloor heating. Light the fires and read or chat. Be swallowed up by the huge beds and pillows.

Switch off the world and switch onto Eden Valley life, where the loudest sound is the beating of the bat wings or the call of the moorhen. When the mists fall, get together round the large-screen TV for family movie nights. When the sun rises again, raise a glass to the fells as you dine in the Lakeland air.

Walk the hills, breathe clean air, eat fresh and well in the company of friends, throw on your woollies at night and take in big, clear starry skies. Birkmere Barn is wild on the outside, yet warm, welcoming and full of fun inside.
