Grab some fizz and sink into the spa bath. Pick a game and a battle on the Playstation. Call up our chef and throw a party around the 20-seat dining table. Finish off with a Nespresso. Sleep in gorgeous en-suite bedrooms from the pages of House Beautiful with the sea air trickling in through the open window.

Cooking and dining

Even Gordon could stay serene and chilled in a kitchen like this. A vision in muted natural tones, it also comes with all the right tech to delight everyone at dinnertime. Two electric ovens, induction hobs and a microwave should see you right. If not, talk to us. Our chefs are on hand for anything from a buffet to a banquet.

Craneswater sleeps up to 20 and everyone can get around the dining table, a hunk of timber almost as big as the Isle of Wight. Pass the bread basket, keep the wine topped up and raise a toast to friendship. Or eat out on the terrace in the southern sunshine, with steak sizzling on the gas barbie and wine chilling in the American-style fridge.

Wrap up proceedings with a Nespresso, or make your cup of tea with the instant-boiling-water tap. Prefer to be pampered? Head on out to The Eastney Tavern, a warm, relaxed stop for good pub grub and real ale, or The Florence Arms for afternoon tea or traditional British menus, washed down with cask and craft beers, wine and cocktails.

Pop to Becketts for buttermilk-fried chicken burger, crab-meat muffin or a Scooby snack. Get the best of New York Italian at Frankie and Benny’s, Indian at T and J Mahal, or Chinese at Noble House. Tuck into oysters and Prosecco at Loch Fyne Seafood and Grill. Or chase away the night’s excesses with breakfast at Southsea Beach Café or The Tenth Hole Café.

The house was beautiful. We had everything we needed. Fabulous kitchen and dining area. Wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved the layout of the house. - Ann
Thank you for letting us experience Craneswater House! We loved being so close to the seafront, it really was 2 minutes’ walk! The interior was extremely comfortable and well decorated and the ladies loved the hot tub and sauna. The cinema room was great to keep the kids entertained on what was a fairly wet weekend. We will definitely book again when summer is here and make use of your private chef option! - Simon
We wanted a getaway that would work for the whole family and the house was perfect. Big enough that we were not on top of each other but cosy enough to enjoy the time together. The large dining area was ideal and it was lovely to have a proper bar set up too! Portsmouth had great options for dining too we wished we had more time. Would promote The Briny to others, 10 minutes walk for water front dining – brilliant! Thanks for a great stay. - Justine
