The hot tub bubbles invitingly. The entertainment area comes with barbecue, pizza oven and garden cabin. The half-acre of glorious garden’s good for cricket and football. And the whole of four-storey Felsted House sits ripe and ready for 14 family and friends or hens to relax and unwind in Essex’s most beautiful village.
Behind its electric gates, Felsted House makes you feel special from head to toe. Those toes will stay toasty, thanks to the underfloor heating, and your whole body will thank you for the on-site basement gym that comes with Peloton, treadmill, free weights, pull-up bar, punching bag and balancing ball.
Cook on the Rangemaster and Miele steam oven or out on the deck with the gas barbie. Get together in the lounge for a full Sky package, Now TV, Netflix and Amazon Video. Feed Insta on the superfast broadband. Raid the library for reading matter. And sleep in comfy hotel standard linen.
There’s a whole half-acre out there in which to set up your own test match or football World Cup, or get out the tennis net for your own mini-Wimbledon. Bubble and boil a starlit night away in the six-seat hot tub. Or just kick back on the outdoor sofas in the entertainment area.
Entertainment area? Oh yes. Sort out your supper on the barbecue or pizza oven, eat on the bar stools around the table, and stay out there under the stars for marshmallows around the firepit. Or head into the garden cabin (with loo) to raid the bar (without last orders) and catch matches and movies on the big-screen TV.
Living spaces at four-storey Felsted House come pretty clearly defined. Head down to the basement for your daily workout in the gym, equipped with Peloton, treadmill, free weights, pull-up bar, punching bag and balancing ball. And stay down there for rummaging through the reading matter in the library.
There’s a games room down there, too. Host the Felsted Mini-Olympics around the pool table, foosball table, table tennis, dartboard, board games and games console. Head out to the garden cabin for pizza, barbies, firepit and big-screen TV. Or just get together for games in the living room in front of cosy logburner flames.
Never miss a beat or a box set in the lounge with its full Sky package, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Now TV. Taunt your friends on Instagram with ‘How’s your Monday?’ teases over the superfast broadband. Recharge your social battery on the easy chairs on the landing.
Whip up wonderful meals on the Rangemaster and Miele steam oven, or around the garden cabin on the pizza oven or gas barbecue. Or don’t. Have a word about hiring our private chefs for a one-off knees-up, drop-off meals or fully catered break. Or take the five-minute walk to The Swan Inn and The Chequers in the village.
Stock up the American-style fridge-freezer with good stuff from the Co-op, Tesco and Sainsbury’s or take a three-minute walk to Linsell’s of Felsted. Get your meat from Sweetland’s Butchers and your fizz from Luckin’s Wine Store. Enjoy takeaway treats from Jalsa Ghar in Great Dunmow, The Hub Farm Shop and The Stores.
Head out to The White Hart at Stebbing for pub favourites or to The Angel and Harp for pork belly, steak in ale pie and plenty of gluten-free options. Or try The Compasses for freshly prepared food sourced from the local butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer and a specials board that changes every week.
Get down to Galvin Green Man for a bib gourmand menu that includes fillet of sea bream or breast of Suffolk chicken. Take afternoon tea, tuck into a full English or chow down on bistro burgers at Channels Bar and Brasserie. Or nibble on the four- or seven-course tasting menu at Square One in Dunmow.
