Hot tub, sauna and living spaces
Halula Hygge’s living spaces are more hen party than a sash and a L-plate. But friends and families will love the sense of wellbeing just as much. Get together in the main living area, a cavernous area with the feel of a rock star’s dressing room. Sit on cushions around the low table or in the plush alcove seats, or kick back on the recliners.
This main area also doubles as a yoga studio, so roll out the purple mats and make with the downward dog. Slide into plush robes and breathe in the benefits of the salt lamps and aromatherapy diffusers. But Halula Hygge’s not done with the wellness yet. Every home needs a positive-affirmation glam station, doesn’t it, and a wellness studio?
And there’s more. Rid yourself of impurities in the sauna. Rehydrate at the water station. Get your nails done at the nail bar. Kick back on the cargo net in the relaxation hub. Spend your evenings lolling around in the Netflix den or soaking in the hot tub. Load all the lovely madness onto Instagram on the superfast Wi-Fi.
Cooking and dining
You might want to use the kitchen as a dance studio and order lovely takeouts from Maliwan’s, Spice Club and Oscar’s Fish Bar. But you’d be missing out on a well-equipped kitchen with three ovens and two fridges. Fill them with cakes and cookies from The Parrett deli and nice cider and wine from Smith and Evans.
For buffets, banquets and everything in between, while you crack open the Prosecco or hang out in the glam station, you can call up our chefs from Dirty Food Guy. There’s dining space for two dozen and coffee from the cafetiere when you’re done. Dump the dirties in the dishwasher and focus on having fun.
Here in the centre of Bridgwater, you’re pretty central for pubs and restaurants. Bob out by foot to Prezzo for Italian or The Halfway House for traditional British fare, including ploughman’s, burger and scampi, washed down with real ale. Go a little boho at the Art Tea Zen Café. Or brace yourself for the bottomless brunch at The Firehouse.
Enjoy smoked-haddock fishcakes or Nduja rigatoni at the 18th-century Bower Inn. Bring your own bottle at Cardamom, for Asian food served with a smile. Grab coffee, cake and lighter bites at Kitchen at the Wharf. For a special occasion, try the taste of a Michelin star at menu-free Osip in Bruton, serving whatever reaches the door.
Bedrooms
In quiet, classy Bridgwater, with the canal outside your front door, you’re unlikely to lose much sleep. Halula Hygge sleeps 24 in seven wonderfully wacky bedrooms.
Bedroom one comes with a triple bunk and a double, while bedroom two is a triple bunk. Bedroom three offers two double beds and bedroom four another triple bunk. Bedroom five is double with triple bunk and bedrooms six and seven are doubles.
