When we’re not home to the most famous race in the world in April, The Crabbie’s Grand National, Aintree Racecourse plays hosts to an additional 5 race days, making every race day at Aintree a special one.
Big Days Out
At Merseyside Maritime Museum you can explore the history of the great port of Liverpool, with four floors of galleries: Seized! The Border and Customs uncovered; Liverpool: World Gateway; the Titanic, Lusitania and Empress of Ireland gallery and the temporary exhibition space.
Formby Point is a beautiful and vast stretch of sandy beach north of the city. There are lovely forested walks through a red squirrel reserve along with one of the country’s most scientifically important dune collections. A great escape from the city and a good place to let children run off some energy.
Standing proudly some 400 feet above the heart of the city centre, the radio city beacon offers stunning panoramic views of Merseyside, Wirral, North Wales and as far away as the Lake District and Blackpool Tower on clearer days.
Sefton Park in Liverpool is arguably the best known and most loved by locals. Classified as a Grade One listed park by English Heritage, the magnificent 200-acre Park looks like a natural landscape rather than a man-made park.
